Add descriptive excerpts and archive summaries in WordPress

An archive helps readers choose what to open. Write a concise excerpt that states the article’s specific answer or value, not a generic repeat of the title. Category descriptions should explain the topic and who the resources serve. Remove placeholder text and check that excerpts do not expose broken shortcodes or truncated claims.

Example: Instead of “Read this helpful guide about privacy,” use “See which Google advertising disclosures belong in a privacy policy and how to check the live page.” This helps the visitor choose and gives the archive useful context. Google’s AdSense readiness recommendations emphasize relevant content and navigation.

Run SiteReadyScore on a category page and a posts archive to flag public structure issues. Then edit the WordPress excerpts and check the rendered page on mobile. Avoid duplicating the same excerpt across dozens of posts.
