Make comparison pages useful with criteria and transparent limits

A comparison page helps readers understand meaningful differences, not just choose a winner. State the criteria, explain why they matter, identify the sources, and make the date of verification clear. Include trade-offs and who each option may suit. If you received compensation or use affiliate links, disclose that relationship plainly.

Example: Comparing website hosts? Include renewal pricing, storage, support, backups, migration, and any test conditions. If you did not test support response, do not say “best support.” If the offers change by country or promotion, make that limitation clear and link to current terms. The page should help readers verify details before purchase.

Google’s AdSense page-readiness guidance recommends content that is unique and relevant to visitors. A comparison that repeats provider sales copy adds little; an original method and clearly sourced facts give readers something to use. Review Google’s Publisher Policies when monetizing pages and ensure the whole page complies.

Use SiteReadyScore to find comparison pages for a public technical or content review. The scan cannot test a product or judge whether your ranking method is fair. Include a CTA to scan the reader’s site only when it fits the article’s subject and the tool’s actual capabilities.
