How to keep an AdSense compliance checklist current

An AdSense checklist can become misleading if it is treated as permanent. Keep a source register with the topic, official Google page, date last checked, and what changed. Review the pages that govern your actual site: Publisher Policies, Publisher Restrictions, site readiness, account review steps, privacy disclosures, and ads.txt. Google is currently consolidating publisher policy documentation, so a link may move or a section may be reorganized; always preserve a link to the current official source rather than relying only on an old summary.

When a Google help page changes, compare the current text with your article and ask whether the change affects the claim, example, screenshot, or recommended step. Update the article only when needed, note the review date, and explain important changes in a short update note. Do not invent news from a modified page timestamp. If the guidance is unchanged, retain the existing explanation and verify that the link still works.

Example: A privacy article includes an old screenshot of a menu that no longer exists. The policy point may still be valid, but the workflow instructions need replacement. Update the navigation instructions, verify them in the current interface, and link to Google’s live required privacy-policy content page.

For a public status issue, tell readers to check their own account because the private notice is more specific than a general article. Google’s site status guide describes account-side status checks. A blog cannot see or replace the user’s private account information.

Run SiteReadyScore after substantive site changes to refresh observable findings. Link the tool where readers can use it, but explain that a fresh scan is not a substitute for checking Google’s current documents and private account messages.
