AdSense approval requirements: what website owners should review
Website owners often search for a fixed list of AdSense approval requirements. Google publishes eligibility requirements, program policies, and site-readiness guidance, but the review considers the submitted site in context. A third-party score cannot certify that a site will be approved.
What Google says to check
Google’s eligibility requirements cover having your own content that meets program policies and being old enough to participate. Google’s site readiness guidance asks publishers to consider what is special about their pages, whether navigation is clear, and whether content is unique and interesting. The site not ready guidance describes common areas such as site access, missing or incomplete ad code, content and user experience, and policy issues.
Separate published requirements from common advice
Claims about a mandatory article count, exact word minimum, required traffic level, or guaranteed approval score should not be treated as official unless Google states them in current documentation for your situation. A privacy policy must accurately describe the site’s actual advertising and data practices; consult the current official privacy and consent requirements that apply to your implementation.
How to prepare responsibly
- Make sure public pages load reliably and represent the site you intend to submit.
- Publish original content that helps the intended audience, and review reused material and media rights.
- Make navigation, publisher information, contact methods, and relevant disclosures clear.
- Review current program policies and any issue shown in your AdSense account.
- Check mobile usability, indexing signals, page speed, and ad implementation with the appropriate tools.
How SiteReady Score fits
SiteReady Score checks public page and link signals, screens sampled text for exact internal duplicates, and can offer optional AI feedback when the visitor opts in. Some checks remain human review because a crawler cannot reliably determine originality, expertise, policy context, rights, or whether a page fully serves its audience. Use the AdSense readiness checker to get a limited report, then read the detailed guide linked from each check.
The tool is independent of Google and is not an official AdSense checker. Google alone decides whether a site is approved.
